Dallas Baptist University

For more than 100 years, Dallas Baptist University has been producing servant leaders who seek to impact the world for the cause of Christ. Moving from Decatur, Texas, to Dallas in 1965, Dallas Baptist University has continued to grow its campus, student enrollment, and reputation.

Currently occupying 293 acres in southwest Dallas, the DBU campus has come to be known as one of the most beautiful in the region. Over the past 27 years, DBU’s enrollment has grown from 1,859 students in the fall of 1987 to 5,445 in the fall of 2014. The number of master’s degree programs has increased from three in 1988 to 27, while the graduate enrollment has increased from 187 in the fall of 1987 to 1,988 in the fall of 2014.

DBU continues to expand its local and national reputation. The National Council on Teacher Quality’s 2014 Teacher Prep Review recognized DBU as the number one elementary preparation program in the nation. In 2014, DBU was named for the eighth consecutive year to the U. S. President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the fifth time to be recognized with distinction. DBU received this honor in recognition of its efforts to instill a spirit of servant leadership in each of its students. Each month, an estimated 2,000 DBU students provide over 10,000 service hours to nonprofit organizations throughout the DFW Metroplex.

Throughout the midst of its growth, DBU has remained committed to its core mission statement—to be a Christcentered university that produces servant leaders who have the ability to integrate faith and learning wherever the Lord may lead them. DBU graduates serve across the country and around the world as business leaders, entrepreneurs, teachers, lawyers, doctors, missionaries, athletes, administrators, pastors, and more.
